Learn to Appreciate Little Things in Life

“Life is made up not of great sacrifices or duties, but of little things, in which smiles and kindness and small obligations given habitually, are what preserve the heart and secure comfort.” Humphry Davy

Life is full of challenges and complications made by humans trying to race between each other. Although the purpose of life can be subjective from person to person while we chase through the goals and dreams, many people leave behind the little things in life and miss the present time and pleasure. The bigger dreams of earning money, being a professional, buy a house, car, have a family, and many more are so overstated that the pleasure from small things like kindness, caring, and helping others are ignored. In this cruel world, why don’t we also focus on little things that can make a huge difference in our lives and the loneliness we have can be erased if we only give our small-time and efforts to appreciate what we have? You can consider these tips to enjoy little things in life and be happy.

Indulge in Nature:

Nature is never far away from us although urbanization has degraded the beauty of nature. Always make sure to dive into the beauty of nature. Try going hiking, walking, strolling, and spend some quality time in nature to refresh your mind, cleanse your body, meditate and be thankful that you still have air to breathe, water to drink, food to eat, clothes to wear, and nature to support you throughout your life.

Wake up early and make yourself tea:

Do you love to see the sunrise? If yes, then why not see it when you wake up early. There might be cases where you can’t see it due to different circumstances but you can see the greenery, dews, and nature smiling for you to start your day. After you wake up, you can make yourself tea in your favorite cup to treat yourself better without expecting others to make it for you. Besides, you can also make tea and breakfast for your family members to warm up their morning with your kind gestures and all smiles.

Remind your loved ones and friends how much you care:

You can send early morning greetings like Good Morning, Hello, Hi to your loved ones, family, and friends to let them know that you care for them and remember them. There are many social media where you can leave messages and can help to make their days.

Listen to your favorite music and also dance:

Why do you feel sad about the things you don’t have and start enjoying the life you have? You can play your favorite songs and groove them in them. You can also dance and workout to energize your body and mind.

Learn from your mistakes:

Admitting to your mistakes can be a tough task but learning from it and promising oneself not to repeat it can lead you to make fewer mistakes and save you from any embarrassing moments.

Help others:

Helping doesn’t have to be huge monetary contributions or huge support. You can help little by little. Whether it is your mother, father, brothers, sisters, and family members, you can help them in household works, emotional support, and many others. Similarly, you can help your friends and strangers too. (Smiles) Helping will not cost you a lot and after you start helping, you will start appreciating your life and I am sure it will make you smile and happy.

Always be grateful for what you have:

Sometimes, there are moments when you don’t want to keep up living or you feel hopeless. In that time, always seek for those who are unprivileged as you, this will allow you to realize that there are people who don’t have things like you have. Be thankful that you have a good life compared to other people with very minimal life support and facilities.

In pursuit of happiness, we can miss out on the main source of happiness and that is to live life and celebrate life. Therefore, always be positive and enjoy life to the fullest. You don’t have to be rich or super talented to be happy and live your life. All you need is willpower and appreciation.
